#the100daysofSMQblocks

Very last minute (on the day it started) I decided to take part in the #the100daychallenge over on Instagram.  I took part last year and it really pushed me to be super productive.  I loved following other makers taking part and seeing everyone’s unique projects.  This year I will be making a quilt block a day.  It has to be one I haven’t made before.  Suggestions warming welcomed!  So here is what I have made so far..

*If you want to make the block click on the title link*

1) Technicolor Twist by Sew Crafty Jess

Starting big with a whopper of a block finishing at 20.5″.  Contains a handy info on making four HST’s at once.  Love a time saver! 2) Ribbon Star Block by Freshly Pieced

Going a bit smaller at 12.5″.  Great layout idea so as not to get confused with all the pieces. Concentration required!  3) Liberty Star by Piece and Quilt

This block finishes up at 12″x 12″. It has the most amazing secondary pattern.  4) Glimma block by Film in the Fridge

Super fast block. Great process and one I will definitely use again. 5) Snail Trail block from McCalls free quilting patterns

If you haven’t already visited this compendium of free patterns, do! Its vast. I realised half way through it should have been foundation paper pieced… Oh well, worked out  ok.  I am also doing some secret sewing for Pat Bravo’s #theminisblogtour but I can’t show you that yet.  Good news is I didn’t use all the fabric and will be giving away the rest of the bundle.  I will keep you posted with details.

Oh, and I still haven’t finished my curved piece quilt.  I ran out of wadding..

Until next time..
Lucy
