I love HST’s!

Continuing my love affair with half square triangles…

This quilt appeared after waking up one morning last week thinking, I have to make a quilt today!!! Do you ever get that?

It’s the first quilt I have made in about six months. Too long!

I pulled fabrics with apricot, tangerine and grey shades in mind and set about cutting them into 6 1/2 ” squares to make hst’s.  There are tons of great tutorials out there on how to make two or four at a time. I love them because they give a fast finish.

I quilted in straight lines roughly two inches apart.  Resisting the urge to matchstick quilt.   I wanted the quilt to retain all its softness and the fabrics to shine.

For binding I chose plain white fabric to keep the look light and fresh.  I use a double thread on my binding as I finish by hand and want a bit of extra durability.

This quilt is available in my Etsy Shop now.

Happy Sewing!
